An Azerbaijani gymnast Lala Yusifova continues her medal tread in the international tournaments summing up the sports year which is soon over. And the Grand Prix final in Brno was no exception where the gymnast from Baku became the silver prize-winner two times.
According to the press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, if Lala needed only 0.5 points for mounting the Czech podium in the all-around on the competition’s first day, on the second final day, her medals in exercises with clubs and a ribbon sparkled against the background of classical Bohemian crystal presented by organizers together with awards and diplomas.
“Lala stably shows quite good results for the last four events,” the national team’s head coach in rhythmic gymnastics Mariana Vasileva says. “She makes progress and this is very good! And Lala is only 16 year old! Such a performance in Brno is a good result for a young and inexperienced gymnast like her. Will she succeed in achieving greater successes? Everything depends on how hard she will work. We will begin to prepare new program for the next season, which, in my opinion, is very interesting and saturated,” the national team’s tutor noted.
Meanwhile, a leader of the country’s national team Aliya Garayeva performed at the second round of the Italian Serie A1 Championship held in Chieti city. Her team Ritmica Piemonte took the tenth place and Garayeva herself received 27.15 points for exercise with a hoop having showed the first result in the collective and the third one – among gymnasts performed with this apparatus. The third round of the Italian Serie A Championship will be held in Perugia on November 17.
Meantime, the national team’s gymnasts will take part in the festivals devoted to the 20th Anniversary of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan. There were placed stands of various sports federations including gymnastics in the National Park. Successes of Azerbaijani sportsmen were reflected on these stands. And the gymnasts themselves demonstrated their Gala performances on the improvised sports ground.
