Bulgarian expert Mariana Vasileva is appointed as the head coach of a national rhythmic gymnastics team of Azerbaijan. This decision was decided on conference of Executive committee of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.
35-year-old Mariana Vasileva worked earlier with a group team of Azerbaijan and achieved good results: under her management the team reached the final in Olympic Games in Beijing and Euro-2008 in Turin.
Representing the new head coach, the vice-president of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation Altay Hasanov said that he hopes for “creating fresh ideas, new trends and achievements of more good results marked with the changes on trainer staff”.
In interview for press service of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation M.Vasileva said that this is a great honour for her to be the head coach of Azerbaijan national team.
“ Also this is the big responsibility and I’ll try to justify hopes. First of all I’ll create associated team of coaches and gymnasts.”
By the way, one of assistant of head coach will be the famous azeri gymnast Dinara Gimatova, who achieved the first success results of Azerbaijan rhythmic gymnastics in the world arena. “The other assistants will be local specialists. Trainings will be held in Olympyc sport complex where Gymnastics Federation created all needed conditions for trainings. We just need to work and prove this with our results” – said M. Vasileva
The principle position of new coach is that the national team should consist of only the best gymnasts of the country. “Interests of the country should prevail over the personal – this is my professional credo” – summed up the head coach.
Also Executive committee decided to create the Commission for Technical Enquires. The members are General Secretary of Federation – Farid Gaibov, Director of Baku gymnastics school, tambling coach – Arif Gafarov, former head coach of rhythmic gymnastics Valentina Ukleina, coach of artistic gymnastics Rza Aliyev and the coach of acrobatic gymnastics Irada Gurbanova.
